| 2 | | WHEREAS, The bomb and mine disposal profession was created |
| 3 | | in April 1941; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Members of explosive ordnance disposal |
| 5 | | organizations perform a dangerous and selfless task often |
| 6 | | without recognition, risking their lives on behalf of the |
| 7 | | United States of America; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The United States will forever be in debt to |
| 9 | | personnel in the profession of explosive ordnance disposal for |
| 10 | | their bravery and sacrifice in times of peace and war; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, People in the United States should express their |
| 12 | | recognition and gratitude for members of the explosive ordnance |
| 13 | | disposal profession; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, The first Saturday in May would be an appropriate |
| 15 | | date to observe as National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Day; |
| 16 | | therefore, be it

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 | | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 | | support the federal designation of National Explosive Ordnance |
| 20 | | Disposal Day to honor those who are serving and have served in |
