HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Chicago 
4Baptist Institute as they host their 29th Annual Banquet on 
5October 25, 2010; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Chicago Baptist Institute was organized in 1934, 
7under the united sponsorship of the Chicago Baptist 
8Association, the American Baptist Publication Society, the 
9American Baptist Home Mission, and Black Baptist Pastors and 
10Churches of Chicago; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Annual Banquet is the major fundraiser for the 
12Institute;  the money raised goes towards scholarships, the 
13daily operations of the school, staff salaries, building 
14maintenance, and maintaining low-cost, affordable tuition; and


  
 
15    WHEREAS, The President of Chicago Baptist Institute is Dr. 
16Clifford Tyler; Chairman of the Board of Trustees is Dr. J.B. 
17Felker; the Banquet Coordinator is Dr. Lena M. Saunders; and 
18the Sheila Tyler-Smith serves as the person handling the 
19Banquet ad book; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
21NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1congratulate the men and women of the Chicago Baptist Institute 
2on the occasion of the 29th Annual Banquet and wish them 
3continued success in the future; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Dr. Clifford Tyler as a symbol of our respect and 
6esteem.
