HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ryan Rikje on the 
4occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ryan Rikje began his scouting career in 2000 at 
6the age of 7 with Cub Scout Pack 190; he steadily climbed the 
7ranks of the Cub Scouts, eventually reaching the rank of 
8Webelos; he then crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 303 chartered 
9out of Lord of Glory Lutheran Church in 2003; once again 
10showing great initiative, he continued his rise through the Boy 
11Scout ranks by actively participating in camp outs, service 
12projects, and earning 23 Merit Badges until he reached the 
13pinnacle of achievement within the organization, the rank of 
14Eagle Scout, on June 24, 2010; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Ryan Rikje led 
16the effort to build a concrete pad for the Lord of Glory Church 
17Trailer as a new permanent parking space next to the church 
18garage; the project has made snow plowing easier, created more 
19room for additional church parking, and made the church very 
20appreciative; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Ryan Rikje has served in many positions of 
22responsibility within the Boy Scouts, including Troop

1Librarian, Assistant Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol 
2Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Ryan Rikje was inducted into Scouting's National 
4Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow (OA), in 2008 and 
5received his OA Brotherhood Honor in 2010; he is also an active 
6member of Venture Crew 607, a high-adventure scouting group; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Ryan Rikje was recognized at a Court of Honor on 
9September 19, 2010 for his work in Scouting and his 
10contributions to his community; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ryan Rikje's family, friends, and fellow Scouts, 
12along with the members of this body, are proud of his hard work 
13and dedication in gaining this prestigious rank; therefore, be 
14it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
16NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
17congratulate Ryan Rikje on the occasion of attaining the 
18coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and 
19happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
21presented to Ryan Rikje as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
