HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Matthew Polsgrove 
4on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Matthew Polsgrove began his scouting career in 
7September of 2000; he steadily climbed the ranks of the Cub 
8Scouts, eventually reaching the rank of Webelos; he then 
9achieved the Cub Scout Arrow of Light and crossed over to Boy 
10Scout Troop 303 chartered out of Lord of Glory Lutheran Church 
11in February of 2004; once again showing great initiative, he 
12continued his rise through the Boy Scout ranks until he reached 
13the pinnacle of achievement within the organization, the rank 
14of Eagle Scout, on July 15, 2010; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Matthew 
16Polsgrove led the effort to build a concrete pad for the Lord 
17of Glory Church's waste disposal dumpster; the project provided 
18a solid ground foundation for the Church's dumpster, which 
19improved access and drainage on the property; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Matthew Polsgrove has served in many positions of 
21responsibility within the Boy Scouts, including Assistant 
22Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Junior Assistant

1Scoutmaster, Troop Guide, and OA Representative; he currently 
2serves as a Patrol Leader; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Matthew Polsgrove was inducted into Scouting's 
4National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow (OA), in July of 
52006 and received his OA Brotherhood Honor in 2007; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Matthew Polsgrove was recognized at a Court of 
7Honor on September 19, 2010 for his work in Scouting and his 
8contributions to his community; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Matthew Polsgrove's family, friends, and fellow 
10Scouts, along with the members of this body, are proud of his 
11hard work and dedication in gaining this prestigious rank; 
12therefore, be it
  
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
15congratulate Matthew Polsgrove on the occasion of attaining the 
16coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and 
17happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to Matthew Polsgrove as a symbol of our esteem and 
20respect.
