HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, On October 30, 2010, the Hellenic Bar Association 
3of Illinois will host its 60th Annual Installation Dinner Dance 
4and Scholarship Ball; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The purposes and objectives of the Association are 
6to establish and maintain the honor and dignity of the 
7profession of the law and to promote the general welfare of the 
8member thereof; to improve the public understanding of the role 
9of Hellenism in the law; to cultivate social relationships 
10among its members; to increase the usefulness of the legal 
11profession in promoting the due administration of justice and 
12the public good; and to promote the interests of the public and 
13advocate for the legal rights of the people of the United 
14States; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The mission of the Association is to improve the 
16effectiveness and efficiency of the administration of justice 
17in the State of Illinois and the United States of America; 
18increase members' effectiveness and efficiency in the practice 
19of law; ensure that bench and bar adhere to acceptable 
20professional and legal standards; improve public understanding 
21of the functions and importance of our legal and constitutional 
22system and encourage respect therefor; increase public 
23understanding and respect for the legal profession; and

1increase public understanding of the role of Hellenism in the 
2law; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Officers, directors, members, and their families 
4and friends of the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois will 
5join together for this annual event; and
  
 
  
6    WHEREAS, The members of the Hellenic Bar Association of 
7Illinois are proud of the Association's longevity and 
8commitment to the Greek and legal communities; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11congratulate the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois on its 
1260th Annual Installation Dinner Dance and Scholarship Ball; and 
13be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to Harry J. Fournier, President of the Hellenic Bar 
16Association of Illinois as an expression of our respect and 
17esteem and with best wishes.
