HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Antioch Viking Youth Football and Cheerleading Association on the occasion of the organization's 40th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Viking Youth Football Association is a non-profit organization directed by a Board of Directors and coaches; the program is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of the game in an atmosphere which teaches discipline, sportsmanship, and having fun; the VYFA is a member of The Chicagoland Youth Football League; and

WHEREAS, Since 1970, the Viking Youth Football Association has been committed to providing an outstanding youth football program for Antioch, Lake Villa, and Lindenhurst; all youths ages 5 thru 14 that live in Antioch District 34, Grass Lakes District 36, Emmons District 33 and Millburn District 24 are eligible to participate in the program; the Viking Program also serves as a feeder program for both Antioch Community High School and Lakes High School; and

WHEREAS, The Antioch Viking Youth Football and Cheerleading Association will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a wonderful event on October 9 and 10, 2010; this year, the VYFA will commemorate the Vikings 40th anniversary by honoring Leo McGrain, the founder of the organization; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Antioch Viking Youth Football and Cheerleading Association on the occasion of the organization's 40th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Antioch Viking Youth Football and Cheerleading Association as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
