HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4Troy Middle School Trojans baseball team on the occasion of the 
5team's victory at the Illinois Elementary School Association 
6Class 3A State championship game; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, After a hard-fought season and impressive 
8victories against Mahomet-Seymour in the quarterfinals and Mt. 
9Zion in the semifinals, the Troy Middle School Trojans defeated 
10Greenville 19-11 to secure victory at the Illinois Elementary 
11School Association Class 3A State championship game; the team 
12ended its season with a phenomenal 15-4 record; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Trojans' game against Greenville set numerous 
14team records for IESA Class 3A, including the most runs by the 
15winning team, with 19 (previous record was 16); the most runs 
16by a losing team in a game, with 11 (previous record was 6); 
17the most runs in a championship game by the winning team, with 
1819 (previous record was 9); the most runs in a championship 
19game by the losing team, with 11 (previous record was 3); the 
20most runs by two teams in a game, with 30 (previous record was 
2120); and the most runs by two teams in the title game by two 
22teams, with 30 (previous record was 10); the Trojans also broke 
23the record for the most hits in the championship game, with 21

1(previous record was 9); the most RBIs in the championship 
2game, with 19 (previous record was 6); the most extra base hits 
3in the championship game, with 7 (previous record was 3); the 
4most extra base hits in a game, with 7 (previous record was 6); 
5the most total bases in a game, with 28 (previous record was 
626); and the most total bases in a championship game, with 28 
7(previous record was 12); and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, During the game, 3 all-time records were broken or 
9tied; the combined 30 runs during the game broke the record for 
10most runs by 2 teams in the championship game; the Trojans' 19 
11runs broke the record for the most runs by the winner in a 
12championship game; and the most runs by the losing team in the 
13title game was tied by Greenville with 11; in addition, both 
14teams broke numerous individual records; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The members of the Troy Middle School Trojans are 
16Kenny Walsh, Cody Grosse, Rob Talarico, Griffin McGuire, Jake 
17Suca, Jack Turk, Alex Davis, Joey Pharo, Mike Quiram, Nick 
18Towery, Andrew Highbaugh, Blake Tomac, Nick Petrak, Nick 
19Clemmons, Brandon Rossiter, Mike O'Brien, Austin Poch, and 
20Jeremy McGoldrick; the team's coaches are Tom Knapczyk, Mike 
21Tonelli, and Jeremy Poch; and
  
 
22    WHEREAS, The members of the Troy Middle School Trojans 
23serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the

1people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4congratulate the members of the Troy Middle School Trojans 
5baseball team on the occasion of the team's victory at the 
6Illinois Elementary School Association Class 3A State 
7championship game and wish them continued success and happiness 
8in the future; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the Troy Middle School Trojans as a symbol of our 
11esteem and respect.
