HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the employees and 
4volunteers of Introspect Youth Services in Chicago on the 
5occasion of the organization's 35th anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Introspect Youth Services (IYS) was founded by 
7Bernard Clay in June of 1975 for the purpose of providing 
8peer-sponsored services to youth of the West Garfield 
9community; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, IYS has helped to encourage the positive 
11development of youth into adulthood through its numerous 
12educational, economic, and social programs and services, 
13including the Home Work Center and Pre-Employment Skills 
14Training programs; and

  
 
15    WHEREAS, IYS has successfully helped countless families to 
16achieve the dream of sending their young adults to college and 
17other post-secondary opportunities; IYS has helped over 30,000 
18kids in the Austin, West Garfield, East Garfield, North 
19Lawndale, Lower and Near Westside communities with education 
20and employment services since its founding; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, IYS serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and

1dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, 
2be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5congratulate the employees and volunteers of Introspect Youth 
6Services on the occasion of the organization's 35th anniversary 
7and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; 
8and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Introspect Youth Services as a symbol of our 
11esteem and respect.
