HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to thank Olga Iniguez for her many years of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of Illinois and her great dedication to the cause of equal opportunities for all; and

WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been employed with the State of Illinois for over 32 years; she currently works for the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, where she has held a variety of titles, including Manager of the Chicago and Rockford Examining and Counseling offices; she has also authored several State studies and reports; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her service at CMS, Olga Iniguez she was employed at the Illinois Department of Human Rights for 5 years; during her tenure at Human Rights, she developed the first Writing Skills assessment for new employees, implemented the first written civil service test for Human Rights Investigators, wrote and developed training for new investigators, and was instrumental in the development of the Human Rights Institute for Training and Development; and

WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez served on the Governor's New Americans Immigrant Interagency Task Force and assisted the group to develop policies to implement standardized bilingual pay procedures for all State agencies; and

WHEREAS, In June of 2006, Olga Iniguez was appointed to serve as the first State Hispanic Employment Plan Manager; in August of 2007, she was promoted to the position of Statewide Diversity Enrichment Program Manager; she also undertook responsibility for developing the State's African American Employment Plan through the development of an annual structured plan that assists State agencies in meeting their affirmative action goals; she was also instrumental in the creation of the State's first Hispanic Employment Plan in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been a member of numerous community organizations, including the Board of Directors for SER Jobs for Progress, the League of United Latin American Citizens, the Board of Directors for the American G.I. Forum of Illinois Veterans Outreach Program, the U.S. Selection Committee for the President's Management Internship Program, and the American GI Forum; she was also a co-founder of the Illinois Association of Hispanic State Employees and served on the association's first Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been the recipient of numerous recognitions for her service to her community, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from IAHSE and the American GI Forum Humanitarian Award; and

WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank Olga Iniguez for her many years of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of Illinois and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Olga Iniguez as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
