2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to thank Olga Iniguez for her many years |
4 | | of dedicated service to the citizens of the State of Illinois |
5 | | and her great dedication to the cause of equal opportunities |
6 | | for all; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been employed with the State of |
8 | | Illinois for over 32 years; she currently works for the |
9 | | Illinois Department of Central Management Services, where she |
10 | | has held a variety of titles, including Manager of the Chicago |
11 | | and Rockford Examining and Counseling offices; she has also |
12 | | authored several State studies and reports; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, In addition to her service at CMS, Olga Iniguez |
14 | | she was employed at the Illinois Department of Human Rights for |
15 | | 5 years; during her tenure at Human Rights, she developed the |
16 | | first Writing Skills assessment for new employees, implemented |
17 | | the first written civil service test for Human Rights |
18 | | Investigators, wrote and developed training for new |
19 | | investigators, and was instrumental in the development of the |
20 | | Human Rights Institute for Training and Development; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez served on the Governor's New |
22 | | Americans Immigrant Interagency Task Force and assisted the |

1 | | group to develop policies to implement standardized bilingual |
2 | | pay procedures for all State agencies; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, In June of 2006, Olga Iniguez was appointed to |
4 | | serve as the first State Hispanic Employment Plan Manager; in |
5 | | August of 2007, she was promoted to the position of Statewide |
6 | | Diversity Enrichment Program Manager; she also undertook |
7 | | responsibility for developing the State's African American |
8 | | Employment Plan through the development of an annual structured |
9 | | plan that assists State agencies in meeting their affirmative |
10 | | action goals; she was also instrumental in the creation of the |
11 | | State's first Hispanic Employment Plan in 1987; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been a member of numerous |
13 | | community organizations, including the Board of Directors for |
14 | | SER Jobs for Progress, the League of United Latin American |
15 | | Citizens, the Board of Directors for the American G.I. Forum of |
16 | | Illinois Veterans Outreach Program, the U.S. Selection |
17 | | Committee for the President's Management Internship Program, |
18 | | and the American GI Forum; she was also a co-founder of the |
19 | | Illinois Association of Hispanic State Employees and served on |
20 | | the association's first Board of Directors; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez has been the recipient of numerous |
22 | | recognitions for her service to her community, including the |
23 | | Lifetime Achievement Award from IAHSE and the American GI Forum |

1 | | Humanitarian Award; and |
2 | | WHEREAS, Olga Iniguez serves as a model of hard work, |
3 | | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of |
4 | | Illinois; therefore, be it
|
5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
6 | | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
7 | | thank Olga Iniguez for her many years of dedicated service to |
8 | | the citizens of the State of Illinois and wish her continued |
9 | | success and happiness in the future; and be it further

10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
11 | | presented to Olga Iniguez as a symbol of our esteem and |
12 | | respect.
