HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the employees of 
4Midwest Generation's Will County Station in Romeoville on the 
5occasion of achieving a major safety milestone of one million 
6hours worked without any injuries; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Midwest Generation's Will County Station can 
8generate enough electricity to meet the needs of about 1.3 
9million households and is one of 6 Midwest Generation power 
10generating facilities in the State of Illinois; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Will County Station has gone without an 
12accident for one million working hours, totaling nearly two and 
13one-half years of consistent safety; this is an exceptional 
14achievement for a large coal-fired generating station with 175 
15employees and a production capacity of over 1,000 megawatts; 
16and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, To ensure that the Will County Station maintains 
18its excellent level of safety, the station follows rigorous 
19safety practices that include continuous assessments, 
20training, communication, sharing best practices, employee 
21recognition, and never compromising employee safety for 
22production; and

1    WHEREAS, The employees of Midwest Generation's Will County 
2Station and the members of IBEW Local 15 serve as models of 
3hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the 
4State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate the employees of Midwest Generation's Will County 
8Station for their major achievement in workplace safety and 
9wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be 
10it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the employees of the Will County Station as a 
13symbol of our esteem and respect.
