| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to honor United States Army Captain |
| 4 | | Angela M. Bulanda for her service to our country; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Captain Angela Bulanda currently serves with the |
| 6 | | U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps' 583rd Forward Support Company at |
| 7 | | Fort Bragg, North Carolina; while at training at Fort Lee, |
| 8 | | Virginia in the Quartermaster School, she was the recipient of |
| 9 | | the Top Distinguished Graduate Award and the Iron Woman Award |
| 10 | | for earning the top Physical Fitness Test scores; she plans to |
| 11 | | attend captain's school at Fort Lee, Virginia in March of 2011; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, While serving in Afghanistan, Captain Angela |
| 14 | | Bulanda was a recipient of the Bronze Star for her meritorious |
| 15 | | service; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Captain Angela Bulanda graduated from Seton |
| 17 | | Academy in 2003 as valedictorian; she was an Illinois State |
| 18 | | Scholar and recipient of the General Assembly Community Service |
| 19 | | Scholarship through the office of 30th District Representative |
| 20 | | William Q. Davis; she was also awarded the "All Conference" |
| 21 | | Award in basketball, volleyball, and softball; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, In 2007, Captain Angela Bulanda earned her |
| 2 | | bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University, where she |
| 3 | | graduated magna cum laude; while there, she was awarded the |
| 4 | | Dean's Award from the College of Visual and Performing Arts; |
| 5 | | and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, While attending NIU, Captain Angela Bulanda |
| 7 | | attended ROTC for four years; she graduated with the |
| 8 | | Distinguished Military Cadet Award, the Superior Cadet Award, |
| 9 | | the American Legion Scholastic Military Excellence Award, and |
| 10 | | the Pallas Athene Award; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Captain Angela Bulanda serves as a model of hard |
| 12 | | work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of |
| 13 | | Illinois; therefore, be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 15 | | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 16 | | honor Captain Angela M. Bulanda for her service to our country, |
| 17 | | welcome her back to the State of Illinois, and wish her |
| 18 | | continued success and happiness in her future endeavors; and be |
| 19 | | it further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to Captain Angela Bulanda as a symbol of our esteem |
| 22 | | and respect.
