HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to  learn of the death of
Darrell 
4"Del" Rea of Christopher, who passed away on July 10, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was born on July 11, 1948, in 
6Carbondale; he was the son of Jesse and Betty (Maness) Rea; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Darrell Rea served his country with pride and 
8distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps, 
9having served 3 tours of duty with the 1st Marine Division; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Darrell Rea served as the editor of the 
11Christopher Progress for many years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was a former citizen of the year in 
13Christopher; he was the former president of the Christopher 
14Chamber of Commerce; he also helped organize the youth fishing 
15derby in Christopher, where he was well known as a friend to 
16the community; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was a member of the Disabled American 
18Veterans, the American Legion, and the Homecoming Committee; 
19and

1    WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was preceded in death by his parents 
2and his wife, Kathryn; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Darrell Rea is survived by his children, Jeff Rea 
4and Kristin Rea; his grandson, Jason Thomas Rea; and his 
5sisters, Karen Hornat and Linda Rea; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of 
9Darrell "Del" Rea; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Darrell Rea as an expression of our 
12sympathy.
