HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Michael "Miki" 
4Pavelonis on the occasion of her retirement after many years of 
5service with the Illinois Comptroller's Office; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In addition to her service with the Comptroller, 
7Miki Pavelonis has been employed with numerous organizations; 
8she taught twirling lessons from 1960 to 1967; she sold real 
9estate for Ozment Real Estate for a year; she was the owner of 
10American Heritage Realty for 5 years; she managed an abstract 
11office for 2 years; she served as County Superintendent for an 
12alternative school for 4 years; she served as the Attorney 
13General's Senior Advocate under former Attorney General Neil 
14Hartigan for 6 years and worked at the Attorney General's 
15office under former Attorney General Roland Burris for 4 years; 
16she was the first woman to be elected to the Saline County 
17Board; she served as Vice-Chairman of the Illinois Democratic 
18Party in 1997; she served as the Harrisburg Township Clerk and 
19the Harrisburg Township Assessor; she served as a delegate at 
20the Democratic National Convention for Bill Clinton; she also 
21served as a State Central Committeewoman and has served as a 
22Precinct Committeeperson for many years; and
  
 
23    WHEREAS, Miki Pavelonis currently serves on the First

1Church of God Council, the Saline County Housing Authority, and 
2the Coleman Tri-County Board; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Miki Pavelonis has been married to her loving 
4husband, Robert "Bob" Pavelonis, for 47 years; together, they 
5have 2 children, Bobby and Britt, and 4 grandchildren; and

  
 
6    WHEREAS, Miki Pavelonis serves as a model of hard work, 
7integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
8Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11congratulate Michael "Miki" Pavelonis on the occasion of her 
12retirement and wish her many happy and healthy retirement 
13years; and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to Miki Pavelonis as a symbol of our esteem and 
16respect.
