HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and

WHEREAS, The emergency medical services system consists of emergency physicians, emergency nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, educators, administrators, and many others; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kent Bailey has been a key member of this team, receiving his Internal Medicine Board Certification in 1986; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kent Bailey began working as an Emergency Room Physician for the former Condell Medical Center, receiving his Emergency Department Board Certification in 1990; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kent Bailey was the Associate Hospital Medical Director from 1987 to 1990 for Condell Hospital and provided key leadership as the Project Medical Director for the Condell Emergency Medical Service System from 1999 until his retirement as the Project Medical Director in December of 2010; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kent Bailey has been a visionary leader, promoting strong pre-hospital care, training, and standards to the communities in the now Advocate Condell Emergency Medical System, providing state-of-the-art emergency medical services; he should be recognized for his great accomplishments and talent; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dr. Kent Bailey for his years of service and commitment to the emergency medical field; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we join the citizens and members of the fire department in the Advocate Condell Medical System in their appreciation and thanks for Dr. Kent Bailey's dedication to the health and well-being of the communities he served; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Kent Bailey as an expression of our esteem and gratitude.
