HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of  
3Representatives wish to congratulate State Representative 
4Michael J. Carberry of Oak Lawn on his service to the people of 
5the 36th Representative District; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The 36th District includes all or parts of Chicago 
7Ridge, Evergreen Park, Hometown, Oak Lawn, Palos Hills, and 
8Chicago's 18th and 19th Wards; and
 
9    WHEREAS, State Representative Carberry took office in 
10March 2010, succeeding State Representative Jim Brosnahan; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Prior to his appointment, Michael Carberry helped 
12found CECO Inc., a signature contractor for the International 
13Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 that also enjoys a 
14close relationship with the International Union of Operating 
15Engineers Local 399; the company established itself as a leader 
16for critical power data center needs within the Chicago region; 
17he is also a member of the Chief Engineers Association; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, A life-long resident of the area he now 
19represents, State Representative Carberry attended St. 
20Catherine of Alexandria grade school and Brother Rice High 
21School; he received his B.A. in journalism from Western

1Kentucky University and pursued additional schooling at 
2Northeast Louisiana University, now known as the University of 
3Louisiana-Monroe; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, State Representative Carberry and his wife, 
5Michelle, have active roles in the education system; State 
6Representative Carberry has coached 7th and 8th grade football 
7at St. Catherine's grammar school for 13 years and Michelle is 
8a Chicago Public Schools teacher; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, State Representative Carberry and his wife are the 
10proud parents of three children, Mary Kate, Claire, and Sean; 
11the Carberry family are active members of St. Catherine of 
12Alexandria parish; therefore, be it
  
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
15wish State Representative Michael J. Carberry all the best in 
16his future endeavors and congratulate him on his service to the 
17people of the State of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to State Representative Michael Carberry as an 
20expression of our esteem and respect.
