| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Phyllis Parkinson | ||||||
| 4 | on the occasion of her retirement after many years of service | ||||||
| 5 | with the Health Care Council of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Phyllis Parkinson was originally from Carmi; she | ||||||
| 7 | then spent her adult years in Springfield and St. Charles; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Phyllis Parkinson has been a long-time realtor in | ||||||
| 9 | the Chicago suburbs; she is also active in local politics in | ||||||
| 10 | the Chicago suburbs; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Phyllis Parkinson has served as Chairperson of the | ||||||
| 12 | Illinois Realtor's Association Legislative Committee for many | ||||||
| 13 | years; she is also a long-time member of the Chamber of | ||||||
| 14 | Commerce in St. Charles; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Phyllis Parkinson began a second career as a | ||||||
| 16 | Statehouse lobbyist for the long-term care profession after | ||||||
| 17 | moving to Springfield to marry her high school sweetheart; as a | ||||||
| 18 | lobbyist, she worked tirelessly on behalf of Illinois seniors | ||||||
| 19 | in need of long-term care services and worked towards equitable | ||||||
| 20 | and fair long-term care funding; she also helped usher in a | ||||||
| 21 | unified long-term care profession and brought together | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | divergent opinions into one association with a single voice; | ||||||
| 2 | and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Phyllis Parkinson has served with great skill and | ||||||
| 4 | dedication as chief fundraiser and PAC activist for the Health | ||||||
| 5 | Care Council of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Phyllis Parkinson is fondly remembered by members | ||||||
| 7 | on both sides of the aisle for her work on campaigns and for | ||||||
| 8 | the great rapport she established with staff and members in the | ||||||
| 9 | Statehouse; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Phyllis Parkinson plans | ||||||
| 11 | to indulge her passion for travel; she is also a former | ||||||
| 12 | ballroom dance instructor who still loves to "cut a rug"; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Phyllis Parkinson serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| 14 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
| 15 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 17 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 18 | congratulate Phyllis Parkinson on the occasion of her | ||||||
| 19 | retirement and wish her many happy and healthy retirement | ||||||
| 20 | years; and be it further
