HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Glenn and Carol 
4Meyer of Steeleville on being the recipients of the Illinois 
5Farm Bureau Eagle Award for Excellence; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Glenn Meyer joined the Illinois Farm Bureau more 
7than 50 years ago; he has served on the Randolph County Farm 
8Bureau Board since 1958, holding numerous leadership 
9positions, including 5 years as president; he represented 
10District 16 on the Illinois Farm Bureau Board of Directors from 
111992 to 2004, during which time he also sat on the IAA 
12Foundation Board of Trustees and the Country Trust Bank Board, 
13and served as the interlocking member of the Board for the 
14Illinois Specialty Growers Association; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, He has served on Boards for the Illinois Soybean 
16Association, the Randolph County Pork Producers, the Farmers 
17Home Administration, the Soil and Water Conservation District. 
18and church and school boards as well; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Carol Meyer has served on the State Women's 
20Committee; she was a voting delegate at the American Farm 
21Bureau Federation (AFBF) annual meeting; she was a delegate at 
22the Illinois Farm Bureau's annual meeting; she participated in

1Ag in the Classroom; and she  participated in a Market Study 
2Tour to Argentina and Brazil in 2002; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, She is a graduate of Agriculture Leaders of 
4Tomorrow (ALOT); for more than ten years, she served various 
5roles on the Land of Lincoln Soybean Association; she serves on 
6the ag advisory committee for U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello 
7and is vice president of the County Farm Bureau Foundation; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The award was presented at the Illinois Farm 
9Bureau's annual meeting in St. Louis, held from December 4 to 
107, 2010; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13congratulate Glenn and Carol Meyer and wish them continued 
14success in the future; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Glenn and Carol Meyer as a symbol of our respect 
17and esteem.
