Appropriates $250,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Public Health to support programs related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Effective July 1, 2009.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The sum of $250,000, or so much of that amount as necessary, is appropriated to the Department of Public Health from the General Revenue Fund to support a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and related conditions program. Such funding shall support, but is not limited to: data-collection system and surveillance system with respect to COPD and related conditions and promotion and awareness of COPD and related conditions through the development of COPD and related conditions patients advocacy services.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2009.
