AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 618

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 618 by replacing 
3
everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. The School Code is amended  by adding Section 
5
22-60 as follows:
 
6
    (105 ILCS 5/22-60 new)
7
    (Section scheduled to be repealed on July 1, 2012)
8
    Sec. 22-60. School waivers.
9
    (a)  A school district may waive the requirements that:
10
        (1) physical education be provided as set forth in 
11
    Sections 27-5, 27-6, and 27-7 of this Code;
12
        (2) behind-the-wheel instruction be offered, as 
13
    required under Section 27-24.2 of this Code;
14
        (3) school buses contain 2-way radios, as required 
15
    under subsection (e) of Section 12-813 of the Illinois 
16
    Vehicle Code;

        (4) automated external defibrillators be located at 
2
    physical fitness facilities and that staff trained in 
3
    operating an automated external defibrillator be present 
4
    as set forth in Sections 5.25 and 15 of the Physical 
5
    Fitness Facility Medical Emergency Preparedness Act;
6
        (5) the Green Cleaning Schools Act be adhered to; and
7
        (6) vehicles owned or operated by the district use a 
8
    biodiesel blend containing 2% biodiesel, as required under 
9
    Section 12-705.1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code. 
10
    Official action by the school board must take place before 
11
a school district may waive or modify any of these 
12
requirements.

    (b) This Section is repealed on July 1, 2012.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
15
becoming law.".
