| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 730

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 730 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 22.7 as follows: |

| (5 ILCS 5/22.7 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 22.7. Immediate suspension of license or permit for |
| 8 |
| alleged violent or sexual crime against a patient. |
| 9 |
| Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, a person's |
| 10 |
| license or permit under this Act shall be deemed immediately |
| 11 |
| suspended by operation of law upon the filing of charges in any |
| 12 |
| court against the person, whether by indictment or information, |
| 13 |
| for a violent or sexual crime allegedly committed against his |
| 14 |
| or her patient in the course of the doctor-patient |
| 15 |
| relationship. The State's Attorney shall promptly inform the |
| 16 |
| Department of the filing of charges against a person who is |
