| AN ACT concerning safety.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Radioactive Waste Storage Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 5 as follows:
|

| Sec. 5. The
The Director of the Illinois Emergency |

| Management Agency is authorized
to enter into
contracts as he |
| 9 |
| may deem necessary for carrying out the provisions of
this Act. |
| 10 |
| Such contracts may include the assessment of fees by the |
| 11 |
| Agency. The fees required shall be established at a rate which
|
| 12 |
| provides an annual amount equal to the anticipated reasonable |
| 13 |
| cost
necessary to maintain, monitor, and otherwise supervise |
| 14 |
| and care for
lands and facilities as required in the interest |
| 15 |
| of public health and
safety. |
