| AN ACT concerning criminal law.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 |
| Section 5. The Gang Crime Witness Protection Act is amended |
5 |
| by changing Section 5-15 as follows:
|
6 |
| (725 ILCS 172/5-15)
|
7 |
| (Section scheduled to be repealed July 1, 2012)
|

| Sec. 5-15. Funding. The
The Department of State Police, in |
9 |
| consultation with
the Attorney General, shall promulgate rules |
10 |
| for the implementation of the Gang
Crime Witness Protection |
11 |
| Program. Assistance shall be subject to the following
|
12 |
| limitations:
|
13 |
| (a) Funds shall be limited to payment of the following:
|
14 |
| (1) temporary living costs;
|
15 |
| (2) moving expenses;
|
16 |
| (3) rent;
|
17 |
| (4) security deposits; and
|
18 |
| (5) other appropriate expenses of relocation or |
19 |
| transition;
|
20 |
| (b) Approval of applications made by State's Attorneys |
21 |
| shall be
conditioned upon county funding for costs at a |
22 |
| level of at least 25%, unless
this requirement is waived by |
23 |
| the administrator, in accordance with promulgated
rules, |
