| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1567 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Sections |

| 10-20.42 and 34-18.36 as follows:

| Sec. 10-20.42. Wind farm. A school district may own and |
| 8 |
| operate a wind generation turbine farm, either individually or |
| 9 |
| jointly with a unit of local government, school district, or |
| 10 |
| community college district that is authorized to own and |
| 11 |
| operate a wind generation turbine farm, that directly or |
| 12 |
| indirectly reduces the energy or other operating costs of the |
| 13 |
| school district. The school district may ask for the assistance |
| 14 |
| of any State agency, including without limitation the State |
| 15 |
| Board of Education, the Illinois Power Agency, or the |
| 16 |
| Environmental Protection Agency, in obtaining financing |

| options for a wind generation turbine farm. Any excess profits |

| from a wind generation turbine farm owned by a school district |
