| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended |
| 5 |
| by adding Section 10-65 as follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 1305/10-65 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 10-65. Diabetes prevention and treatment. |
| 8 |
| (a) The Secretary shall appoint an individual within the |
| 9 |
| Department to
coordinate with other State agencies to ensure |
| 10 |
| that all
programs that impact the prevention and treatment of |
| 11 |
| diabetes are coordinated, that
duplication of efforts are |
| 12 |
| minimized, and that the impact of such programs are
maximized |
| 13 |
| in an attempt to reduce the health consequences and |
| 14 |
| complications of
diabetes in Illinois. |
| 15 |
| (b) The Department shall serve as the central repository
|
| 16 |
| for the State of Illinois for data related to the prevention |
| 17 |
| and treatment of diabetes.
