AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1784

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1784 on page 5,

line 5, after "Jo Daviess", by inserting ", Whiteside, Rock 
4
Island,"; and

on page 13, by replacing line 18 with the following: "in Jo 
6
Daviess County, Carroll County, Whiteside County, Rock Island 
7
County, or combination thereof, and acquired by"; and
 
8
on page 20, by replacing line 2 with the following: "federal 
9
government, the State of Illinois, Jo Daviess County, Whiteside 
10
County, Rock Island County,"; and
 
11
on page 27, line 19, by changing "8" to "5"; and
 
12
on page 28, by replacing lines 8 through 25 with the following: 
13
"appoint one member of the Board and the County Board Chairs of 
14
Jo Daviess, Whiteside, Rock Island, and Carroll Counties shall

appoint 4  members of the Board. Of the 4 members appointed by

the County Board Chairs, no more than 2 shall be associated 
3
with the same political party. All initial appointments shall 
4
be made within 60 days after this Act takes effect. The one 
5
member appointed by the Governor shall be appointed for an 
6
initial term expiring June 1, 2012. Of the terms of the members 
7
initially appointed by the County Board Chairs, 2 shall expire 
8
June 1, 2011 and 2 shall expire June 1, 2012.  At the expiration 
9
of the term of any member, his or her successor shall be 
10
appointed by the"; and
 
11
on page 29, by replacing lines 1 and 2 with the following: 
12
"Governor or the County Board Chairs in like manner and with 
13
like regard to place of"; and
 
14
on page 35, by replacing line 15 with the following: "of Jo 
15
Daviess, Whiteside, Rock Island, and Carroll counties."; and
 
16
on page 43, by deleting lines 15 through 24.
