| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1841
|

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1841 on page 3, by |
| 3 |
| replacing lines 20 through 26 with the following: |

| "final discharge, or release on parole or mandatory
supervised |
| 5 |
| release, as a
condition of his or her parole or mandatory |
| 6 |
| supervised release, or within 6 months from the effective date |
| 7 |
| of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, whichever |
| 8 |
| is sooner. Persons incarcerated on or after the effective date |
| 9 |
| of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly shall be |
| 10 |
| required to submit a sample within 45 days of incarceration, or |
| 11 |
| prior to his or her final discharge, or release on parole or |
| 12 |
| mandatory supervised release, as a condition of his or her |
| 13 |
| parole or mandatory supervised release, whichever is sooner. |
| 14 |
| These specimens shall be placed into the State or national DNA |
| 15 |
| database, to be used in accordance with other provisions of |
| 16 |
| this Section, by the Illinois State Police.".
