Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Establishes the Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders within the Department of Public Health to develop and implement an Alzheimer's disease and related disorders program. Provides that the Department shall consult with specified persons and organizations to develop and implement the program. Provides that the Department may delegate the responsibility to implement the program to another entity. Effective January 1, 2010.

| AN ACT concerning State government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
5 |
| Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
6 |
| amended by adding Section 2310-336 as follows: |
7 |
| (20 ILCS 2310/2310-336 new) |

| Sec. 2310-336. Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Related |
9 |
| Disorders. The Department shall establish a Center for |
10 |
| Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders within the |
11 |
| Department to develop and implement an Alzheimer's disease and |
12 |
| related disorders program. In developing and implementing the |
13 |
| program, the Department shall consult with the following |
14 |
| persons and entities: (i) persons with Alzheimer's disease and |
15 |
| related disorders, (ii) health care professionals, (iii) |
16 |
| caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease and related |
17 |
| disorders, (iv) family members of persons with Alzheimer's |
18 |
| disease and related disorders, (v) members of the public, (vi) |
19 |
| the Alzheimer's Disease Advisory Committee, and (vii) |
20 |
| organizations representing persons with Alzheimer's disease |
21 |
| and related disorders. The Department may delegate the |
22 |
| responsibility to implement the program to another entity.
