| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2148

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2148 as follows:

| on page 2, immediately below line 13, by inserting the |
| 4 |
| following: |
| 5 |
| "Grants awarded from the Illinois Military Family Relief |
| 6 |
| Fund shall not be subject to garnishment, wage levy, |
| 7 |
| forfeiture, or other remedy, unless the denial of that remedy |
| 8 |
| is inconsistent with the requirements of any other State or |
| 9 |
| federal law."; and
|
| 10 |
| on page 2, by replacing line 19 with the following: |
| 11 |
| "the Fund. To prevent a delay of 30 or more days in the payment |
| 12 |
| of casualty-based grants, the Department may use as much as 5% |
| 13 |
| of the appropriations designated for deposit into the Fund for |
| 14 |
| administering the casualty-based grant program.".
