AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2214

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2214 by replacing

everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. The School Code is amended  by changing Section 
5
27-24.5 as follows:

    (105 ILCS 5/27-24.5)  (from Ch. 122, par. 27-24.5)

    Sec. 27-24.5. Submission of claims. The district shall 
8
report on forms prescribed
by the State Board, on an ongoing 
9
basis, a list of students by name, birth date
and sex, with the 
10
date
the
behind-the-wheel instruction or the classroom 
11
instruction or both were
completed
and with the
status of the 
12
course completion. The district shall report annually to the 
13
State Board the total expenditures related to providing driver 
14
education, including equipment and personnel costs, by June 30, 
15
2009 and every year thereafter.

    The State shall not reimburse any district for any student

who has
repeated any part of the course more than once or who 
2
did not meet the age
requirements of
this Act during the period 
3
that the student was instructed
in any part of the drivers 
4
education course; nor shall the State
reimburse any district 
5
for any resident of the district over age 55.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon

becoming law.".
