| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2231

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2231 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by adding |

| Section 33-3.3 as follows:

| (720 ILCS 5/33-3.3 new) |

| Sec. 33-3.3. Failure to report suspected official |
| 8 |
| misconduct. Any public officer or public employee who fails to |
| 9 |
| report forthwith to the local State's Attorney or, in the case |
| 10 |
| of a State employee, to the Department of State Police, |
| 11 |
| suspected official misconduct of a State employee or a member |
| 12 |
| of a board or commission created by or pursuant to the Illinois |
| 13 |
| Constitution, a State statute, or an executive order of the |
| 14 |
| Governor commits a Class A misdemeanor.
