| AN ACT concerning criminal law.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 9-3-1.5 as follows: |

| (720 ILCS 5/9-3-1.5 new) |

| Sec. 9-3-1.5. Concealment of death. |
| 8 |
| (a) For purposes of this Section, "conceal" means the |
| 9 |
| performing of some act or acts for the purpose of preventing or |
| 10 |
| delaying the discovery of a death. "Conceal" means something |
| 11 |
| more than simply withholding knowledge or failing to disclose |
| 12 |
| information. |
| 13 |
| (b) A person commits the offense of concealment of death |
| 14 |
| when he or she knowingly conceals the death of any other |
| 15 |
| person. |
| 16 |
| (c) Sentence. Concealment of death is a Class 4 felony.
