| AN ACT concerning elections.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 |
| 8-1 as follows:
|

| Sec. 8-1.

The nomination of all candidates for members |

| of the General Assembly by
all political parties as defined in |
| 9 |
| Section 8-2 of this article shall be
made in the manner |

| provided in this article 8 and not otherwise. |
| 11 |
| The name of no person, nominated by a party required |
| 12 |
| hereunder to make
nominations of candidates for members of the |
| 13 |
| General Assembly shall be
placed upon the official ballot to be |
| 14 |
| voted at the general election
as a candidate unless such person |
| 15 |
| shall have
been nominated for such office under the provisions |
| 16 |
| of this article 8.
