AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3336

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3336, AS AMENDED,
3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:
 
5     "Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by
6 changing Section 7 as follows:
 
7     (70 ILCS 705/7)  (from Ch. 127 1/2, par. 27)
8     Sec. 7. Posting and publication of ordinances.
9     (a) All ordinances imposing any penalty or making any
10 appropriations shall, within one month after they are passed,
11 be (i) posted electronically on the fire protection district's
12 website in a manner that is accessible to the general public
13 and posted in at least one public place within the fire
14 protection district, (ii) posted electronically on the website
15 of an association of fire protection districts of which the
16 fire protection district is a member in a manner that is

1 accessible to the general public and posted in at least one
2 public place within the fire protection district, (iii) posted
3 electronically on the website of an association of fire
4 officials in a manner that is accessible to the general public
5 and posted in at least one public place within the fire
6 protection district, or (iv) published at least once in a
7 newspaper published in said district, or if no such newspaper
8 of general circulation is published therein, then either by one
9 publication in any newspaper of general circulation within said
10 territory or by posting copies of the same in ten public places
11 in the district.
12     (b) If a fire protection district posts its ordinances
13 electronically on a website pursuant to subsection (a), the
14 district must also publish the website address where the
15 ordinance can be found and the district's phone number at least
16 once in a newspaper published within the district, or if no
17 newspaper of general circulation is published within the
18 district, then either by one publication in any newspaper of
19 general circulation within the territory or by posting copies
20 of the same in 10 public places within the district.
21     (c) No ; and no such ordinance that imposes a penalty or
22 makes any appropriation shall take effect until ten days after
23 it is so published or posted, and all other ordinances and
24 resolutions shall take effect from and after their passage
25 unless otherwise provided therein.

2 becoming law.".
