| AN ACT concerning employment.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Mold |
| 5 |
| Remediation Employee Notification Act.
|
| 6 |
| Section 5. Employee notification of mold remediation. |
| 7 |
| (a) A business owner or a representative of the business |
| 8 |
| owner shall provide notification, including a scheduled date |
| 9 |
| and timeframe, prior to any mold remediation activities of |
| 10 |
| areas measuring 30 square feet or more to all affected |
| 11 |
| employees in the building where the remediation is being |
| 12 |
| conducted. Notification to employees may be done in writing or |
| 13 |
| by posting in a conspicuous and accessible location. |
| 14 |
| (b) It is recommended that an industrial hygienist or other |
| 15 |
| trained environmental health and safety professional is |
| 16 |
| consulted prior to remediation activities and that parties |
| 17 |
| providing mold remediation services are registered |
| 18 |
| professionals. |
| 19 |
| (c) Once mold remediation is complete, a business owner or |
| 20 |
| a representative of the business owner shall provide |
| 21 |
| notification of the completed action that was taken to remedy |
| 22 |
| the mold issue to all affected employees in the building where |
| 23 |
| the remediation was being conducted. Notification to employees |
