| AN ACT concerning government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of State Police Law of the
Civil |

| Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section |
| 6 |
| 2605-90 as follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 2605/2605-90 new) |
| 8 |
| Sec. 2605-90. Training; death and homicide investigations. |
| 9 |
| The Department shall provide training in death and homicide |
| 10 |
| investigation for State police officers. Only State police |
| 11 |
| officers who successfully complete the training may be assigned |
| 12 |
| as lead investigators in death and homicide investigations. |
| 13 |
| Satisfactory completion of the training shall be evidenced by a |
| 14 |
| certificate issued to the officer by the Department.

| Section 10. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by |
| 16 |
| adding Section 10.11 as follows:
|

| The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board shall |

| conduct or approve a training program in death and homicide |
