Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a municipality, township, county, or other unit of local government may not impose a civil penalty for violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code that is in excess of the civil penalty specified in the Code.

| AN ACT concerning transportation.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 16-102.7 as follows:
|

| (625 ILCS 5/16-102.7 new) |

| Sec. 16-102.7. Penalty limits. A municipality, township, |
| 8 |
| county, or other unit of local government may not impose a |
| 9 |
| civil penalty for violation of this Code that is in excess of |
| 10 |
| the civil penalty specified in this Code.
