| AN ACT concerning transportation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
| 5 |
| Township Road District Review Act.
|
| 6 |
| Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act: |
| 7 |
| "Department" means the Illinois Department of |
| 8 |
| Transportation. |
| 9 |
| "Study" means an analysis of the township road districts in |
| 10 |
| counties with a population of 1,000,000 or more inhabitants and |
| 11 |
| counties that are contiguous to counties with a population of |
| 12 |
| 1,000,000 or more inhabitants. The study shall include a list |
| 13 |
| of all township road districts, their tax levy, the length of |
| 14 |
| road maintained, and the costs incurred in the township road |
| 15 |
| districts, including road maintenance, equipment, facilities, |
| 16 |
| personal services, and benefits, if any. |
| 17 |
| "Township road district" means roads which are part of the |
| 18 |
| township and district road system as described in Section 2-103 |
| 19 |
| of the Illinois Highway Code.

| 20 |
| Section 10. Study. The Department shall conduct a study of |
| 21 |
| township road districts and shall deliver to the Governor and |
| 22 |
| General Assembly a copy of this study no later than December |
