AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3722

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3722 on page 3,

line 4, after "area", by inserting "by a fire protection 
4
district"; and

on page 3, line 6, by replacing "jurisdiction district" with 
6
"district"; and

on page 3, line 8, by replacing "jurisdiction district" with 
8
"district"; and
 
9
on page 3, immediately below line 10, by inserting the 
10
following:

    "(b-5) If fire protection coverage services are provided to 
12
an unprotected area by a municipal fire department, then the 
13
persons requesting the services shall pay to the municipality 
14
for providing fire protection an amount assigned by the 
15
municipality. The amount shall be paid annually on the

anniversary date of the assignment by the Fire Marshal."; and

on page 5, immediately below line 20, by inserting the

following:

    "(c) The Fire Marshal may not assign an unprotected area to 
5
a municipal fire department unless an ordinance or resolution 
6
has been approved by the corporate authorities of the 
7
municipality agreeing to the assignment.".
