| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Roderick L. "Rod" Webel of Baylis, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on December 8, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born March 3, 1964, in Quincy, to Maurice |
| 6 |
| N. and Mary Eileen Wilson Webel; he married Stacy Carter on |
| 7 |
| September 11, 1993, at the Pittsfield United Methodist Church; |
| 8 |
| and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Rod was a member of the Detroit Christian Church; |
| 10 |
| he was a John Wood Community College Orr Agriculture Center |
| 11 |
| graduate; his family was named the 1997 Top Farm Family in the |
| 12 |
| Nation; he was the President of the Western Illinois Fair |
| 13 |
| Board, a member of the Griggsville-Perry Board of Education, |
| 14 |
| John Wood Advisory Board, and the Pike County Farm Bureau |
| 15 |
| Board; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was active locally with the Muscular Dystrophy |
| 17 |
| Association, working with the telethon; he enjoyed hunting, |
| 18 |
| traveling (especially cruises), spending time with his family, |
| 19 |
| and working on his farm; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice |
| 21 |
| and Mary Webel; and his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Pat |
