SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Yeunita Verene Hunter of Chicago, who passed away on January 28, 2009; and

WHEREAS, She was born July 30, 1954 in Chicago to Jesse Lee and Mary Jean Hunter; Yeunita was the third born of seven children; Yeunita was affectionately known as "Penny" by family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Penny accepted Christ under the Catholic Archdioceses at an early age; she attended St. Mel Holy Ghost Elementary maturing to Providence St. Mel High School; after graduating from Providence in 1972, she attended Loop Junior College in Chicago, earning an Associates Degree in Business Administration; and

WHEREAS, On November 30, 1974, she married the love of her life, Caleb Glover, Jr.; to this union a son was born, Mathieu Brycen Glover; she joined Prince of Peace Sanctified Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor W. L. Upshire, where she was a diligent member; she worked for the American Medical Association as a Head Office Coordinator for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, family member, and a devoted friend to all; Penny was always full of laughter, great humor, and pizzazz; she was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee and Mary Jean Hunter; and two brothers, Carl Joseph and Ivory Joe Hunter; and

WHEREAS, She leaves to cherish her prominent memories: A loving and devoted husband, Caleb; a dear son, Mathieu; her three sisters, Glenda Faye, Cheryl (Anthony), and Bobbie Jean; her brother, Jesse; her loving sister-in-law, Janet; a niece whom she considered her own, Devan; her four nieces, D'Nai, Ericka, Dana, and Lauren; her three nephews; Mycal, Brandon, and Anthony II; her one great-nephew, Aerrion; her two great nieces, Dayana and Azariah; her devoted friend, Denise; her mother-in-law, Carrie (Frank); her father-in-law, Caleb Sr.; her sister-in-law, Floyrida; her two brothers-in-law; Albert (Sherry) and Maurice (Benita); her aunt, Bessie L. Williams; her three uncles; Lucious, Henry, and Counsel Hunter; her awesome caretaker, Diane Smith; and a host of family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Yeunita Hunter; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Yeunita Hunter as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
