SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Richard J. Meckler of Round Lake Beach, 
4
who passed away on February 1, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Richard Meckler was born on November 1, 1949 in 
6
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; he was the son of the late Pearl and 
7
Joseph Meckler; he married his wife, Pamela on July 29, 1972; 
8
he was a resident of Round Lake Beach for the past 15 years; 
9
and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Richard Meckler was the owner of Talking Wireless 
11
in Grayslake; he loved his customers and knew the meaning of 
12
customer service; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Richard Meckler was an active member of St. Mark 
14
Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst and a member of the Grayslake 
15
Business Breakfast Club; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Richard Meckler will be remembered for his passion 
17
for playing basketball and as an avid fan of the Pittsburgh 
18
Steelers football team; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Richard Meckler is survived by his wife of 36 
20
years, Pamela; his children, Elizabeth (Christopher) Ahlman,

Adam (Jana), and Jonathan; his grandson, Thomas Ahlman; and his 
2
brother, William (Emmajean) Meckler; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
his family and friends, the passing of Richard J. Meckler; and 
6
be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Richard Meckler as an expression of 
9
our sympathy.
