SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Beverly J. (Ritta) Johnson of Zion, who 
4
passed away on January 6, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson was born on July 8, 1931 in 
6
Waukegan; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson met her late husband, Charles 
8
Johnson, while working at Johnson Motors in Waukegan and they 
9
were married in 1964; she was also a former volunteer for 
10
Victory Memorial Hospital; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson attended Christ Community Church 
12
in Zion; she enjoyed camping in the outdoors, and enjoyed 
13
traveling, cooking, and crocheting; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson was preceded in death by her 
15
husband; her brothers, Jack and Don Ritta; her sister, Edith 
16
Cashmore; and her mother and father; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson is survived by her children, Terry 
18
(Janice) Johnson, James (Marsha) Johnson, Thomas Johnson, 
19
Randall (Debra) Johnson, and Kimberly (Waymon) Vela; her 13 
20
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Loverne

Neish Nitzel; and her numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces

and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and 
3
great-great-nephews; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
her family and friends, the passing of Beverly J. (Ritta) 
7
Johnson; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Beverly Johnson as an expression of 
10
our sympathy.
