| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Linda L. Gerloff of Lake Villa, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on January 5, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff was an inspiration to children and |
| 6 |
| dedicated the past 20 years to educating children with special |
| 7 |
| needs in the Special Education District of Lake County; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff enjoyed spending time with her |
| 9 |
| family, doing art projects, and baking; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff was preceded in death by her father, |
| 11 |
| James Walsh; and her dear friend, Elizabeth "Cookie" Wolyn; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff was the loving mother of Theodoor |
| 13 |
| (Cassandra) van Empel, James (Sarah) Gerloff, and Jennifer |
| 14 |
| Gerloff; the cherished daughter of Viola Walsh (Leonard) |
| 15 |
| Mattson; the beloved sister of Daniel Walsh, Michael Walsh, and |
| 16 |
| Kathy (Glenn) Barham; the fond sister-in-law of LuAnn Walsh and |
| 17 |
| Arlene Oien; the devoted Grandma of Cayla, Christopher, |
| 18 |
| Jacqueline, Alex, and Amber; the caring aunt of Joshua, |
| 19 |
| Brittany, Megan, Emily, Bobby, and Casey; and the loving owner |
| 20 |
| of her faithful canine companions, Holly, Libby, Jade, Harley, |
