SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Robert J. Rodriguez of Las Vegas, Nevada, 
4
formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on October 29, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Robert Rodriguez was born on March 15, 1945 in 
6
Waukeshaw, Wisconsin; his parents were Lewis and Consuelo; he 
7
was a graduate of North Chicago High School; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Robert Rodriguez was employed at the North Chicago 
9
Veterans Affairs Medical Center for 25 years before retiring; 
10
he was also a member of the American GI Forum, where he acted 
11
as secretary treasurer before relocating to Las Vegas, and was 
12
active in the Union at the VA; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Robert Rodriguez was a member of the First Baptist 
14
Church in Waukegan; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Robert Rodriguez was preceded in death by his 
16
parents, Lewis and Consuelo; his sister, Genevive Louis; and 
17
his brother, Daniel Rodriguez; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Robert Rodriguez is survived by his brothers, 
19
Raymond Rodriguez and Louis (Esther) Rodriguez; his nieces, 
20
Leslie Drywater, Lisa Rodriguez, Nicole Nipple, and Marixsa

Rodriguez; his nephews, Machismo Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez 
2
Jr., and Louis Rodriguez II; and his many cousins, friends, and 
3
great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of Robert J. Rodriguez; and 
7
be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Robert J. Rodriguez as an expression 
10
of our sympathy.
