| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 |
| learn of the death of Jack Thomas Skinner of Danville, who |
4 |
| passed away on February 12, 2009; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born April 5, 1923 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to |
6 |
| Harry C. and Bessie McCallister Skinner; he married Irene |
7 |
| Middlemas on June 7, 1947 in Covington, Indiana; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He attended Danville High School and served in the |
9 |
| United States Army during World War II; he worked for Illinois |
10 |
| Power for 38 years as a forestry man; and he belonged to the |
11 |
| International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, He was proud of being a life-long Democrat, a |
13 |
| Precinct Committeeman, and serving on the Vermilion County |
14 |
| Board from 1988-1994; he enjoyed time spent fishing at his |
15 |
| cabin on the Wabash, gardening, mushroom hunting, being an avid |
16 |
| St. Louis Cardinals fan, and playing softball and coaching his |
17 |
| children in baseball during his early life; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his loving wife; his |
19 |
| brothers, Louis Skinner and Harry Skinner; and his sisters, |
20 |
| Emma Sexton and Mildred Bridges; and
