| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Dr. Robert J. "Bob" Heaston of Naperville |
| 4 |
| and Vienna, Virginia, who passed away on February 20, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born March 3, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas; |
| 6 |
| he received his B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering from the |
| 7 |
| University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and a PhD in chemical |
| 8 |
| engineering from Ohio State University in Columbus; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He attended the National War College in Washington |
| 10 |
| D.C.; he was a longtime civil servant in the Department of |
| 11 |
| Defense, and served for eight years as the Director of GACIAC |
| 12 |
| at the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute in |
| 13 |
| Chicago; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was a faithful member of Christ Church of Oak |
| 15 |
| Brook and the Natural Philosophy Alliance (NPA); he loved to |
| 16 |
| write and enjoyed the intellectual pursuits of theoretical |
| 17 |
| physics, theology, psychology, and philosophy; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Heaston is survived by his true love, Joan |
| 19 |
| (Barnhisel) Heaston, whom he married December 29, 1956; he was |
| 20 |
| the loving father of John (Fran) Heaston, Barbara (Dan) Van Der |
| 21 |
| Werken, and Beth (Scott) Kanady; the loving "Papa" of Brittany, |
