| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois State Senate were |

| deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Charles L. Cockburn, |
4 |
| of Cleveland, Tennessee, formerly of Lockport, on April 2, |
5 |
| 2009; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Charles was a former member of the First |
7 |
| Congregational Church in Lockport and a life member of the |
8 |
| Teamsters Union Local #705; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his parents, George |
10 |
| and Roa Lee Cockburn (nee Dunn); his granddaughter, Jackie; his |
11 |
| siblings, James Dunn, Edward Cockburn, Glenn Cockburn, Steven |
12 |
| Cockburn, Cecil Cockburn, Mary Cockburn, and Virginia Hawkins; |
13 |
| and |
14 |
| WHEREAS, Charles is survived by his loving family, his |
15 |
| former wife and friend, Carolyn Cockburn; his children, Martha |

| Shoemaker, Charles S. (Bernice) Cockburn, Martin (Diane) |

| Cockburn, Gary Cockburn, Charles D. Cockburn, Randy (Lori) |

| Cockburn, Susan Diechmiller, and Danny Cockburn; his siblings, |

| William Cockburn, Flora Lee (Eddie) Epperson, and Willma |

| Sprietzer; his grandchildren, Jeff Jeremy, Kristie, Nicole, |

| Jason, Patrick, Caitlin, Matthew, Gary, Phillip, Breanna, |
