SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Loren Bartels of Edwardsville, who passed 
4
away on April 10, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Loren Bartels was born on May 26, 1939 in Wood 
6
River; his parents were Carl and Esther (Klopmeier) Bartels; he 
7
married the former Janice K. Charow on June 10, 1961 in 
8
Jerseyville; she preceded him in death on January 29, 2008; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Loren Bartels served his country with pride and 
10
distinction as a member of the United States Army; he was 
11
employed as an architect for 45 years; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Loren Bartels was a member of the Zion Lutheran 
13
Church, the Edwardsville Rotary Club, the Edwardsville Gun 
14
Club, and the Edwardsville Moose Club; he was also a Paul 
15
Harris Fellow; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, Loren Bartels enjoyed hunting upland game; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Loren Bartels was preceded in death by his wife 
18
and his parents; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Loren Bartels is survived by his son, Chad E.

Bartels, and his girlfriend, Crystal Isbell; his sister, 
2
Meredith Arnold; his several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his 
3
sister-in-law, Jane Charow; and his brother-in-law, Richard 
4
Charow; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
his family and friends, the passing of Loren Bartels; and be it 
8
further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Loren Bartels as an expression of 
11
our sympathy.
