SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Frank A. Belmont Sr., of Gurnee, who 
4
passed away on February 16, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born on August 13, 1924 in Waukegan and 
6
married Mildred Norton in 1948 in Waukegan; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, He retired in September 1986 as an engineer with 
8
Chicago-Northwestern Railroad after 40 years of employment; he 
9
was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; he was 
10
an avid woodcarver, organist, golfer, furniture repair, and 
11
restoration artist; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, He was a graduate of WTHS in 1942 and entered the 
13
AirCorps, serving in World War II; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara 
15
Taylor; and his sister, Emily Kleeberg; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Frank Belmont Sr. is survived by his wife, 
17
Mildred; his sons, Frank (Rebecca) Belmont, Jr., Michael 
18
(Marilynn) Belmont, and John (Shannon) Belmont; his daughter, 
19
Marianne Johnson; his seven grandchildren; and his brother, Sam 
20
(Sharon) Belmont; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
2
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3
his family and friends, the passing of Frank Belmont Sr.; and 
4
be it further

 
5
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to the family of Frank Belmont Sr., as a symbol of 
7
our sincere sympathy.
