| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of William E. "Bill" Thomas of Winthrop |
| 4 |
| Harbor, who passed away on February 16, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born July 1, 1935 in Benton; he was a |
| 6 |
| member of Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church and also |
| 7 |
| belonged to the Waukegan Masonic Lodge #78 A.F. & A.M., and was |
| 8 |
| a proud member of the Illinois Harness Horseman's Association; |
| 9 |
| and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He was a former Police Officer for the Village of |
| 11 |
| Winthrop Harbor and he worked as General Manager of Lyons-Ryan |
| 12 |
| Ford, Reed-Randle Ford, Robinson Chevrolet-Cadillac and |
| 13 |
| Sorenson Chevrolet; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles |
| 15 |
| Thomas; his sisters, Juanita Lassiter, June May, Lorraine |
| 16 |
| Ambacher, and Judy Thomas; and his parents, Randall Thomas and |
| 17 |
| Lillian Sweetin; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Nancy; |
| 19 |
| the loving father of Alan Thomas, Jody (Kevin) Moses, and David |
| 20 |
| (Elena) Thomas; the loving grandfather to Jessica and Joshua |
| 21 |
| Moses; the dear brother of John Thomas; and was a fond uncle |
